ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE AND FULL POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS

The efficiency of agricultural tractor transmission has been improved over the years, with new concepts such as Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and Full Powershift (FPS) evolving in advanced technologies. Both options seek to offer farmer greater operational results lower energy expenditure, necessitating studies assess effectiveness these technologies define best choice for each purpose. objective this work was evaluate two tractors equipped CVT FPS transmissions. For this, a strip experiment conducted randomized block design, that analyzed, addition transmissions, target velocities 4, 6, 8 10 km h-1. Operational performance parameters were evaluated, slippage index, engine rotation, velocity, fuel consumption, power available on drawbar, turbo pressure temperatures air intake exhaust gas. Based obtained, more efficient most analyzed parameters, requiring 16.31% less hourly providing 16.29% traction bar yield, however, velocity compared transmission.
